Why would I create an account?

An account is part of Fineprint Premium. It keeps the companies you use and the plain-English list of what you accepted. Looking up and pasting stay free with no account. Premium email for watched terms ships when billing opens.

Can you tell when I tap Agree on another site?

Accepted Answer

No. We cannot see Agree on a website, TV, or console. With Premium, look the company up here, then tap “I accepted these terms” if you already agreed. That is how those terms get on your list.

What can I paste?

A public URL, or the words from a privacy policy, terms page, cookie notice, or waiver. We list what you accept and what it can cost you, with quotes.

What if I have to agree on a TV or console?

Those screens rarely give you a URL. Search the company or app name here on your phone — Apple TV, Disney+, Xbox — read what they ask, then go back and decide. If it is not on our list, paste a public URL, paste the words from the screen, or send the company name. What does my account keep?

Premium accounts keep the companies you saved, the date you marked “I accepted these terms,” and the plain-English list of what that click can cost you. Removing a company from Fineprint does not cancel what you already agreed to at the company.

What will you notify me about?

Accepted Answer

With Premium, if you ask to be notified, you get an in-app notice when watched terms change. Public briefings also appear on News. Email for those watched changes comes with Premium when checkout is live — it is not sending yet.

Question 7

What does Fineprint use on this site?

Accepted Answer

We count page views with a first-party script. If you sign in, we use a session cookie. We never share or sell your data. No ads.
