Fineprint

On a TV or console

You can still see what you are accepting. Use your phone. Fineprint cannot see the Agree button on the other device.

Use this when a TV, console, or app asks you to agree and there is no link to copy.

What to do

  1. 01

    Pause on the Agree screen

Do not rush the click. The same terms almost always exist as a public web page, even when the TV only shows a button.

  2. 02

Look the company or app up here

On your phone, search Apple TV, Disney+, Xbox, PlayStation, or the company name. If we have already read it, open the company and see what you accept — including other parks, stores, or apps named in that document.

  3. 03

If it is not on our list

Paste a public privacy or terms URL if you can find one. Or send the company or app name and say which device showed Agree. We start looking for the public page and add it if we can read it.

  4. 04

    If you already agreed

Sign in, open that company, and tap “I accepted these terms.” Your account then keeps the list of what you accepted and what it can cost you. We still cannot see the click on the TV.

  5. 05

    What your account remembers

The date you marked accepted, the quoted downsides, and other apps or places those terms can follow you. Fineprint cannot undo the company’s Agree button.

Not in our system yet

Lookup first. Then paste a URL or add the company. A name plus “Apple TV, no link” is enough for us to start looking for the public page.

Other agreements worth checking

Besides website privacy and terms: streaming and media-service agreements, app store and IAP terms, EULAs, kids and family accounts, health and fitness apps, cars and smart home devices, and loyalty or ticket terms that piggyback on an app click.
